Different Leaders

Our Different Leaders Programmes are a suite of interventions that are designed to increase the impact and effectiveness of diverse leaders at every level of their leadership journey. At their core, they share a common objective of advancing the distinctive capabilities of these leaders through:

  • Leveraging their diversity as a strength
  • Optimising the unique leadership characteristics, competencies, skills and behaviours that their “difference” brings
  • Learning how to navigate through their organisations as minorities in a majority environment
  • Understanding how to deliver high impact sustainable results
  • And, of improving their retention and progression rates

All of the programmes build upon the Factor 8 Leadership Framework, and may incorporate: Leadership diagnostics – including “Factor 8 360 degree Different Leaders Assessment Tool”; Case Studies and simulations; Individual Business Critical Project; Action Learning; and Executive Coaching.

executive programmeThis modular programme is targeted at diverse leaders that are at middle to senior management levels. The overall aim of the programme is to advance the leadership and career development of these executive leaders and to improve their retention and progression rates.

Programme aims

Critically, through this programme participants will:

  • Be better equipped with the specific skills required to leverage their difference at an Executive level to create results through inspiring others
  • Understand why leaders lose their way and the self-mastery strategies required to avoid derailment
  • Recognise their personal brand and the link to their leadership signature and style
  • Master processes and approaches for creating and implementing strategic and transformational change.

Leadership programmeThis programme is targeted at emerging diverse leaders at either junior or middle management level. Typically built around a series of 6 facilitated modules, spread over a 3 to 6 month period, the programme incorporates the use of mentors, has line-management participation, 3 full coaching sessions, and the execution of a business critical project.

Programme aims

By the end of the programme participants will:

  • Display more confidence and skill in optimising their unique characteristics and leadership styles – including the added value that multiple identities, bicultural competence and cultural capital brings to the workplace;
  • Have evaluated individual strengths and identified areas for improvement in terms of personal leadership and performance;
  • Have developed the emotional intelligence and leadership skills required to excel as a minority in a majority culture; and will have
  • Have enhanced their ability to effectively execute the critical thinking and leadership skills required to deliver business results.

Different Women- Leadership Mastery

Leadeship masteryThis is a unique leadership development programme that builds on 21st century models and cutting edge thinking to further leverage the leadership effectiveness of women in middle and senior management positions leading in the public and private sectors.

This programme is custom designed to address the distinct but often subtle challenges and variations to the unwritten rules and models for success that female leaders face and must master.

Fast paced and interactive the 2 day programme, supported by executive coaching, is packed with alternative ways of looking at and activating the leadership style and approach of women in leadership and is full of ideas and practical tools that they can action immediately!
